Hello everyone! My name is Shaun Paul Walker. I have recently earned a spot on the USA Deaf Volleyball National Team for 2016-2017 season. I will be attending the USA Deaf Volleyball team training camp and then have the chance to compete in the 2016 Pan Am Qualifier and the 2016 World Deaf Volleyball Championships, which are held at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., and possibly in the 2017 Deaflympics in Samson, Turkey, when we qualify.
Due to the high cost of travel and expenses, the individual team members have been asked to help raise money. I have to raise $2,500 to help defray the cost for training, domestic travel, room and board, participation fees and an interpreter. The team has received a sponsorship to cover cost of the uniforms and other additional staff.
So far, I have been able to raise $1,000, and only $1,500 left to go to reach my fundraising goal.
If you are able to help support a local deaf volleyball player/coach to reach the dream, please contact me. I have the official USA Deaf Sports Federation donation/sponsorship forms. Please make sure that if you are able to donate that you include my name, Shaun Paul Walker in the memo, so I can receive credit for your donation.
