4Paws Rescue Colorado Springs

We started being the voice for dogs in El Paso County in 2003. Initially we had 5-6 board members and 10-20 foster homes at any given time. Over the years the economy and life in general has taken its toll. We aren't getting the donations we used to receive, and all of our foster homes have moved away, either due to personal reasons or deployment. As of 2015 there are two board members and no foster homes. The board members are the only people that are fostering, and the family dogs in those homes are getting old. Therefore, the dogs that are rescued have to be chosen carefully. In July 2015 4Paws Rescue went on hiatus. Lack of funds and foster homes has taken their toll and we are in dire straits. It costs over 2,000.00 just for insurance alone, and then there is the medical issues that have to be dealt with for each dog saved.  We are on hiatus until October 31st, 2015. If we don't get some donations and foster homes in that period, we have no choice but to shut down. This breaks our hearts, as we won't be around to  help dogs that will die without us.
