About the Company...
Random Acts Theatre  was founded in the summer of 2001 by then undergraduate students of the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, Adam Brummitt and Khnemu K. Menu-Ra. Since its inception, Random Acts Theatre has operated with the foremost intent of producing material that connects viscerally, intellectually, socially, and philosophically with its audiences, casting a light on concepts that linger in the fringes of society, and lifting a corner on what might be too often under-rug-swept.

About the Piece...
(The Gog/Magog Project Trailer; Exeter Phoenix)

More than a decade ago, performance artist Alexander Gog contractually agreed as a form of social protest and activist demonstration to be caged for a period of one year. During the intervening year, due to the death of those with whom the project began, The Gog/Magog Project continues with its performer having remained detained surviving exclusively on Banana Flavored 'Moon Pies'.

The Gog/Magog Project has long been a source of controversy, many arguing that the artist should be released despite his seemingly voluntary imprisonment. It has caused a stir in its constant international touring. In the coming year Random Acts Theatre  brings to London an alternative theatre experience that cannot (or rather, perhaps should not) be duplicated.

Make what ethical assessment you will, The Gog/Magog Project does challenge the notion of artistic expression and the extremes to which one particular artist has taken such an endeavour.

About the Author...
Jason Lindner is an award winning playwright, actor, and his further career has meant such varied positions as clown wrangler, giant snake handler, and defender against multiple, simultaneous assualts by black clad ninjas.

He currently resides generally in the Northeast United States, and is a long suffering Chicago Baseball Cubs enthusiast. Jason is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan (BFA ’99) and Yale University (MFA ’02). His work has been seen previously in the UK in the South West capital of Exeter. Further plays of his have been produced to some acclaim all over the US in Chicago, NYC, LA, Alaska...wherever fine beverages are sold.

Funding...
Random Acts Theatre  will soon bring its third production of its successful performance of Jason Lindner's The Gog/Magog Project to the London stage.

The cost of mounting this truly unique piece of alternative theatre are as follows:

1. Venue costs for a two week run in a Central London location (negotiations have begun with The Courtyard Theatre ): £4800

2. Printed materials to be included as part of our creative promotional campaign in which you, the audience, will play a part as a member of the projects founding company, Revelation Theatre , or its activist opposition, The Daemons of Freedom : £600

3. Technical fees, including set materials, personel hire, and miscellanious costs: £600

Random Acts Theatre assures all donors that any profits made from The Gog/Magog Project will be reinvested in future productions staged by the company.

Reviews...
"It was a hilarious and bitter attack on almost every conceivable kind of commercial theatre and a thoughtful comment on the value of the artistic experience.

The play was humorous and horrific in equal measure. The actor’s performance was faultless; he spoke directly to and engaged with the audience. The stage management was equally seamless."
- Jenna Richards, Phonic FM

"Close attention to the actor's words and to voice-over & projections, opens to us in the audience, the author's mind and the enormity of his concept, carried so competently in this gutsy performance, given unstinting energy, moving tenderness & frequent ferocity by Adam Brummitt in this demanding but meaningful drama, only for strong minds."
- Arthur Duncan, Remote Goat

"As an exploration of why artists do what they do, it certainly makes you think about the acceptable limits of artistic expression, whether imposed by the self or society."
- Belinda Dillon, Devon Life
