Help GEIG educate girls in Ghana!

The Girls Education Initiative of Ghana (GEIG) is a non-profit organization that aims to narrow the disparity in educational access for girls, including those with special needs in Ghana. We provide academic support, financial aid, leadership development & mentoring, and professional development to 12 girls in the Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions of Ghana. Since our inception in 2014, we’ve run our Academic Support Program with a group of 12 students who are academically talented and have leadership potential, but are not able to advance due to a lack of financial support.

A number of our students also have recently been diagnosed with learning disabilities/differences which are not properly supported in their current academic environments. We provide tutoring support to those students. 


We are requesting $10,000 to fund our GEIG Learns Academic Support Program for the 2015/2016 academic year. This funding will cover the cost of classes, teaching supplies, books, uniforms, and stipends for program volunteers. It will also provide transportation for our current cohort of students. 

Two of the GEIG girls are dyslexic and we provide additional individual tutoring for them after school. Below are how your contributions will support our girls:

UNIFORM
 $12.50 =1 school uniform for a GEIG student 

BOOKS
$65.00 = 1 GEIG student gets books for academic year

CLASSES
$16= 1 GEIG student attends 2 Saturday Classes supported by a GEIG volunteer

$32= 1 GEIG student attends a month of Saturday Classes supported by a GEIG volunteer

$40 donation= 1 month long morning classes for a GEIG student at their school 

$160= 1 school term of classes for a GEIG student at their school

$480= 1 school year of classes of classes for a GEIG student at their school
