Glen Berry Memorial Fund

On May 17, 2015 we lost a very dear friend and all around wonderful person: William Glen Berry. Glen's passing was unexpected. He did not have any end of life insurance to cover funeral costs or life insurance to continue to support his mother, Johnnie.

If you picked up a dictionary – or launched Wikipedia.com – and looked for an example of the bond between a mother and her son, there is no doubt that Johnnie H. and William Glen Berry would be one of the best, shining examples of that concept.

The devotion between these two amazing people, for as long as any of us have known them, has helped serve as a fantastic guide of how a parent should teach a child and how an adult child should treat a parent. For all time.

With her only son's passing on May 17, Johnnie H. Berry is going through every parent's nightmare: outliving their progeny. While she is financially stable for now, many Friends of Glen (FOGs) are very concerned about her long-term prospects without any future financial contributions from her late son.

We FOGs have established this Web program to provide an opportunity for other FOGs to provide direct financial support to his mother. She will be the only recipient of any funds contributed here (save the website's standard fees).

There are enough of us FOGs to provide some sort of future financial stability to this wonderful mom. It really doesn't matter how large or small the gift. It's a concrete way to honor our departed friend Glen, and to offer his true lifelong supporter a little more comfort in dealing with her son's unexpected, quite devastating departure.
