Reading Band Boosters is seeking donations to help us toward our goal of purchasing new uniforms for our Jr/Sr HS Marching Band. Reading Band Boosters was founded in the fall of 2013 to provide support to Reading Community Schools' band program. Our Marching Band is being revived this year, with our students marching on the football field for the first time in over 10 years! These students are extremely talented, dedicated, and hard-working. We're excited for the future as there are more than twice the number of beginning band students in our elementary schools than previous years!
Throughout the year, we hold fundraisers, big and small, to provide financial assistance for the band program beyond what our school system is able to provide. Members of the marching band & younger band students can be seen happily working right alongside us at these events. This year our students played at Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon at Mile 22 to support all of those running in the race and to share their love of music.
Your generous donation will help us purchase new uniforms for these students. Their current uniforms are 15+ years old and have weathered many, many hems, safety pins, patches & other adjustments, and the available sizes don't accommodate all who would like to march. We are getting ready to utilize donated uniforms for the next two years as band uniforms are very expensive and our group small (but growing!). We are asking for your assistance to help this marching band program get a fresh new look for their exciting new beginning! In addition, we are in desperate need of a trailer to transport instruments and uniforms to a variety of performances as we currently use a number of parental cars and sometimes not everything fits.
We are a 501(c) organization and every penny goes towards helping fund Reading's Band Program. We help to cover instrument repair, lessons and band camps, participation in music activities, etc. We are a small school district with a very big heart and these kids WANT to share their talents. We just need a little help.
