Tundra's Recovery

Donation protected
Meet Tundra, she is a pure bred Siberian Husky and she is 1 1/2 years old. She is loving, friendly, and compassionate. Her best friend is a Calico kitten named Callie. She loves playing tag with our kids, having conversations with you about her day when we get home and cuddling. She was also training to be a therapy/service dog for people with emotional disorders, anxiety, depression, ptsd, etc. Today 10/28/2014 somebody shot Tundra in our back yard while she was sleeping under the tree before our oldest came home. At the time I hadn't known she had been shot, I just knew my dog was injured and I rushed her to Job's Peak vetinary hospital. They called me back shortly after x-raying her and informed me that someone had shot her. Her back right leg is shattered and her tendon had been severed. She underwent surgery and they and we are hoping for the best but if in 6 weeks when the cast comes off and she isn't better she will have to have her leg amputated. I have notified DCSO and they believe that she was shot with a CO2 high powered pellet rifle. They are doing a full investigation and the vet managed to salvage the pellet and shrapnel inside of her leg. I wouldn't normally ask for help but this is such a senseless and cruel crime that we did not expect to happen, and we have no idea at this point how we are going to afford our poor puppies recovery.  Anything helps and I thank you all for your time to read about our four legged family member and friend.
