Fulfilling my Circus Dream

Donation protected
When I took my first intro aerial class back in October 2012, I had not known that I would fall in love with the circus, and that I would choose to dedicate my life to circus training. For the past year-and-a-half, I have dedicated over 1000 hours of my life to training and honing my aerial and circus skills, while attending the University of Texas at Austin. Now that chapter of my life is over, I'm proud to say that I have been accepted to the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) intensive training program starting September 2014. One step closer to fulfilling my dreams.

Just what are those dreams, you ask?

During my audition, I was asked where I saw my myself in 5 years. I decided in that moment, the next five years I was going to devote my life to receiving as much circus education that I could, empowering others through teaching circus arts, performing as a individual, partner, and ensemble member. My ultimate goal is to bring together a band of circus artists and produce our own performance company. Along with that vision, I want to be able to give back to my community by offering circus as a social practice. I guess you could say that my dream is to have my life revolve around circus arts.

Unfortunately, sometimes, when the opportunity of a lifetime is presented to you, new obstacles get in the way that make it harder to achieve your dreams. When I decided to apply for NECCA, I was fully prepared for the decision, and was ready to make my financial investment for the coming year. Sadly, life threw me a curve ball, and suddenly, I had been forced to divert my savings to finishing my college education, and supporting myself for the remainder of my time in Austin. That means I'm starting from scratch, and though I'm still on my feet, your assistance would ensure I stay on my feet and soar into the air.

I have set up this fund to help me cover the costs of tuition and of relocating to Vermont. The program runs from September-June in Brattleboro, where I'll be settling into an apartment and a part time job for the duration of the program. I welcome all forms of support from a heart felt "Way to go!" to the dollar donation of your choosing. Thank you so much for contributing to my goals and dreams. I can't wait to show you what I've learned!

Love,
