MAUD MARY'S TITANIC sails toTURKEY

Hello! My name is Geraldine Carr and I'm a filmmaker in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. My short film "Maud Mary & the Titanic" has been curated as part of a package of eight Canadian films to screen at the 18th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival in Ankara, Turkey. The festival is happening May 8 - 18, 2015 and I need your help to get me there!
"Maud Mary & the Titanic" is a sweet, short film about a late, great lady who missed the boat and sailed into history! It's the story of how Maud Mary of Liverpool missed the boat and lived to tell the tale. Not just any old boat — the Titanic! A widow with three young children, Maud purchased four tickets on the maiden voyage of the most unsinkable ship of all time! But circumstances prevailed and thankfully Maud and her children were made late for their seeming date with destiny on April 15, 1912. Now her tale of survival passed down by three generations of family is destined to be conveyed in this charming short film by her great-grandaughter - me - Geraldine Carr! (6 min. / 2012 / animated & live-action).
I love this film and it continues to appeal to audiences here at home, across the country, and now on the other side of the world! I've not had the opportunity to screen it to an non-English speaking audience and I'm honoured for the invite to the 18th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival. It's a 10-day festival held in the capital city of Ankara. The festival screens 100+ films created by female filmmakers from around the world, and has numerous events including: Q&A’s with filmmakers and key creatives; panel discussions; networking events and other events to connect filmmakers, producers, writers, composers, programmers, distributors, audience members, etc.
By attending the festival I'll grow as a filmmaker and make numerous connections that will have a positive impact on my craft. It's important to do what you're passionate about and I'm passionate about making films and sharing them with one and all!
Time is of the essence! The countdown is on! It is my goal to go to Turkey with my film "Maud Mary & the Titanic" and share it with a new audience. If you can assist me in getting there, I will be eternally grateful.
