Georgian's stuck in the Big Orange!

Donation protected
Georgian's stuck in the Big Orange needs your help! As modern-day pilgrims in this un-holy land of orange, misplaced Georgians in Tennessee have been forced to view license plates on various roadways in this state that display some of the most grotesque team logos around.  Teams such as ga tech, auburn, florida, and even purdue (that school up north somewhere), have each been successful in rounding up their inferior fanbases to support placing their school logo on license plates in Tennessee.

As a result of this frustration, a group of brave supporters have decided enough is enough, and it is time to do something about it.

In order to introduce a new speciality plate in the state of Tennessee, you must complete a six step process by June 30th (in our case, this would be June of 2016).

If you are interested in reading up on this process, please click on the following link:  http://www.tn.gov/revenue/article/how-to-introduce-a-new-specialty-plate

This GoFundMe page was created to complete step four in that process, which has a goal of collecting at least 1000 names (of Tennessee residents who want a UGA tag) and at least $35,000 in donations (which can come from any Dawg fan in the nation).  These two figures were the numbers that were shared with us after contacting the Tennessee Vehicle Services Division at (615) [phone redacted] and asking "how many names and how much money do you need to make this happen?"...their response "you need the names of 1000 Tennessee residents and a check for $35,000, which equates to $35 per person to process the new plate request"

How this will work:
1) Donations and names collected on this site will go into a pool which we will use to get to the goal of 1000 names and $35,000.  Side note - We have the goal set for 50k because GoFundMe charges a % fee for all monies collected and we wanted our net figure to be well above 35k with anything over that number going back as an anonymous gift to the UGA Alumni Association in Athens for helping us send out email blasts to alumni, help with artwork for the tag, working with the Dept of Revenue, etc.  Plus, they are always asking for damn money down there and we figured this would be a nice way to give back for their time/effort, etc.  We anticipate support of the Alumni Association to formally kick in once steps 1-3 in the link above are completed.  Step 1 will be Bo Mitchell, a Tennessee legislator in District 50, sponsoring the bill, which we anticipate happening later this year.  The state has passed numerous other SEC tags and we are confident they will approve a vote for a UGA tag (after all, it's more revenue to the state - why wouldn't they vote yes).

2) Once we arrive at the dollar goal, we will look to see if we have 1000 names of Tennesssee residents on the list.  Names will be in priority order based on the dollar amount donated...if you give more, you move up on the list.  If for some reason we have the money without the names, we sell Dawg fans in Tennessee on the idea of a free UGA tag to arrive at 1000 names.

It's that easy.  Now, let's make this happen!
