Mission trip to Newark, NJ

Dear friends and family,
Can you envision a place where the population includes over 200 nationalities and live right here in our own country? We want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to us. 20 of us will be going to Newark, NJ from July 8-15 from Riley's Creek Baptist Church in Rocky Point, NC.
Our week long trip will focus on helping a church planter disciple a church in the Newark, New Jersey area and minister to the community:
First, we will be allowing God to work in our lives through the personal enrichment that comes from this type of a mission trip.
Second, this Prayer Journey will help us focus our individual prayers by traveling to New Jersey and praying 'on-site with insight.' We will pray for the people that God may open their eyes and hearts to the message of Jesus.
Third, we will be visiting a 'harvest field' for Agape Baptist Church. Riley's Creek Baptist Church has adopted Agape Baptist Church and is assisting in bringing the gospel to their community. We will be working with Pastor Craig Jackson to help this area grow in their Christian walk.
Fourth, we will encourage local Christians in Newark. Our presence will bolster their spirits and support their work. We will visit one area in Newark where we will develop relationships with the Christians there through a Vacation Bible School.
We are excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead. We hope you see the value in what we will accomplish.
As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. We need to raise $5000 by June 1st. Our trip cost is $300 per person and we have begun to raise support already! If you can support us in a financial way, we would be very grateful.
And, most importantly, we also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry in these countries. Without prayer, nothing will happen. While money is important, it comes in a distant second to our need for your prayer support. Since prayer support is so important to the success of this mission, we would like to know if we can count on you in that area.
