Garfield Needs Your Help!

Animal Welfare League of Frederick County's beloved outside colony cat Garfield, who has been living in his colony since 2003, has several medical issues going on.

We are in need of some donations to cover several lab tests, ultra sound, x-rays and medications that he will need to be on for the rest of his life.

Garfield has been making good progress medically and is being cared for at home by one of our colony care takers. The good news is, Garfield will be able to live out his days inside at the home of his original and one of many, current colony care takers, who Garfield is very fond of. Garfield has many fans, who are so very fond of him too and have enjoyed giving him many pets through the years while visiting the colony he is from. Garfield will be missed by many and he thanks each friend who was kind enough to come over and pet him, feed/water him and who donated all the awesome outdoor shelters to protect him from the weather.

The picture with the white and black cat was from August 2008. That was Garfield's very best friend Spot, who sadly disappeared from the colony the next year. We never knew what happened to him. He was young and healthy, and vanished one day. We looked eveywhere for Spot, but never found him. Garfield was sad about his best friend being gone too!
