What is Boom?
Gallery Boom is Tumwater, WA's first all local art gallery, made possible in 2014 with the Tumwater Chamber of Commerce's Business Incubator Program.  Author and illustrator P. Calavara and fabric artist Christine Malek created the large monster Island of Harmony Boom and its cast of monster citizens in 2012. The duo had two novels, chapbooks, a crew of stuffed animals and other random bits when they were approached about a gallery to help launch the world of Harmony Boom and support local artists.

The Gallery.
Currently, there are about 20 local artists at Gallery Boom. The gallery offers art classes, events and this summer has started its Sunday Art Market, in the green space next to the gallery. Local community members can come on Sunday's with no RSVP or jury to sell their handmade items every Sunday during the summer. Musicians and kids are welcome too! Clavara, Malek and the artists of Gallery Boom are committed to create a local arts community with the gallery at its heart.

The past year has proven to be quite the learning experience and adventure with emergency expendatures and loans. As the first business in the Chamber's Incubation Program, the first local art gallery in the area, Calavara and Malek's first store and the first retail business in the building, there has been much to learn!

What your Donation will do. 1.2.3.
1. One third of the goal money, $1000 will go to improve the galery's outdoor signage and lights. We currently have a few small signs on the building but they get lost. We need to purchase much larger ones. Being in Western Washington, there are many gray months. Having large spotlights on our building facing the road will improve visibility.

2. We also need to improve our visibility in the community. This gallery supports local artists and needs to get the word out! One third of our goal will go towards local print, social media and advertising of our gallery, events, classes and our Sunday Art Market. This also includes gallery swag like mugs, patches and t-shirts.

3. The final third of the goal, will go to help pay down some of the unexpected bills that one enevitably runs into during the first year of business.
