My College Journey: Engineering

Hi there! My name is Jasmine, and I will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I will be majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and I am looking at possible minors of Architectural and Biomedical engineering. In high school, I graduated in the top 5% of my class, I completed the International Baccalaureate program, I am an AP Scholar,  I am a National Honors Society alumni, and I graduated with highest honors. I have always had an intense love for math and science, and I am so excited to further my education in something that I genuinely have a passion for. I received many scholarships through Boulder and other private funds, however; they are spread over four years. The tuition totals around $30,000 per year, and I just need approximately $6,000 more to pay off my first year! The price includes the remainder of my tuition which is around $5,000 and then the cost of textbooks which is around $1,000.

My parents are assisting me as much as they can with a total of two children in college and with the financial burden that they currently carry.   I have no other ways of paying for the remainder of my bill. I have received several scholarships, grants, and loans, but I am still in need of $6,000 to complete this coming school year.

If you guys know of any grants or scholarships that I can apply for please do let me know! I did get a job through the university, and I am currently working until the start of school.

I would really appreciate anything that anyone can offer! I have always valued my education, and I would eventually like to obtain my doctorate degree in engineering. I would never be able to say thank you enough for the money you donate, but I am pursuing this degree in hopes that I can pay it forward, and do something that will benefit thousands of people.
