Sophie's Journey

We are raising money to help our beautiful niece Sophie Chidwick who was diagnosed with infantile spasms at 3 months old.  Infantile spasms are a form of seizure that result in delayed development unless the seizures are stopped through treatment.  So far Ben, Sandy and their doctors have been unable to find a treatment or diet that has stopped the seizures completely, resulting in delayed development for Sophie and requiring constant monitoring and care. There are many obstacles that Sophie and her parents face on a daily basis. We have had the opportunity to spend time with Sandy and Ben while they take care of Sophies strict schedule of feeds due to her ketogenic diet, medicine and appointments. On a good day it is hard and tiring, but they never complain. Our goal in starting this go fund me is to help relieve some of the Financial barriers that Sandy and Ben are currently facing, such as meals and parking fees whilst staying at the hospital; travelling to and from appointments and the hospital; probable work interruptions affecting daily living costs, treatments not covered under our health care system, and future costs when Sandy's maternity leave ends. Ben and Sandy love Sophie with all of their hearts and are the most dedicated parents when caring and being there for their  daughter. Your prayers and support are much needed during this time.
