Anna and I teach in an inner city school called America's Finest Charter School. It is a Title 1 school and 95% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch. A high number of our students' families cannot donate to the classroom for extracurricular activities.  We have dedicated our lives to inspiring children to love learning and we want to take every opportunity to allow our students to bring what we are learning to life. There are a lot of activities that we have here in San Diego that our students have not had the opportunity to experience and we have found one that we think would be one they will remember forever. It also correlates with the social studies and science standards for 2nd and 3rd grade. It is called the Indian Hills Camp. Second grade will be attending 2 sessions: 1. learning about the rock cycle and creating different types of rocks, 2. learning survival skills and interactions with their environment. Third grade will be attending 2 sessions as well: 1. a day in the life of a Southern California Kumeyaay Native American, 2. learning facts about space and creating star and space charts.

Any level of donation will be a huge help to get our students to experience this amazing learning opportunity. Thank you in advance, not only from us, but from our 2nd and 3rd grade classes! :)
