Help set a rocky foundation right

I am nervous to create this project. Afraid to be judged for needing help and asking for it. Worried to be looked down on. Embaressed to even need to ask and most of the time I wouldn't. But  I also realize that everyone needs help at some point in their life and that we cannot fix our homes foundation problems on our own..... Our story is long, so thank you for taking the time to read it.
------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife and I have been married for 12 years as of this past July and in all that time we always dreamed of being able to have a home of our own to start a family. a couple of years ago the dream of a home came true. We saved. We worked hard. We finally did it. We were so proud and happy to finally take what we felt was a huge step towards our dreams.

In our first year our water heater exploded and a few other minor issues popped up, but that's what getting your dream and owning a home is all about we thought. Things will happen beyond your control, so we rolled with the punches and came out on top.

About 5 months ago another amazing thing happened in our life. My beautiful baby girl was born healthy and her and my wife were safe. Words cannot describe the flood of emotions I felt as I looked at my daughter for the first time. I was a father. My wife was a mother. We finally had a real family.

My first time looking in her eyes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We were responsible and luckily planned for after the pregnancy the best we could. My awesome wife was our chief bread winner as I was in the process of going back to school and working part-time. So my wife being out of work for two months after the pregnancy was hard, but because we planned, we got through it just fine. After the dust settled I wanted to go back to work part-time while attending school, but we quickly found out that the cost of daycare was going to force me into the role of a stay at home dad, at least until I finished school.

Everything was back on track. Then we discovered cracks opening in the walls of one of our bedrooms and the floor felt like it was rising. At the same time our entry area was sloping and our door would no longer latch. After much research we found out we might have foundation issues and contacted a specialist.

Yesterday we got their report. We basically found out (in the opinion of a foundation repair company) that when my wife and I bought our first home a couple of years ago, the seller did a great job of covering up foundation issues. They also pointed out that our home inspector should have at least seen some of the obvious signs/issues and cautioned us. So now we are in between a rock and a hard place because the repairs are about $9,000  and research as well as what they have told us shows that the longer we wait the more expensive that number is going to get.

Maybe if the timing would have been different I would just be frustrated and rolling with it like we always do. But now we are faced with this huge bill while we are still getting back on our feet after our daughters birth and still trying to take care of large medical bills. We just don't know what to do. I would normally never ask for help in this way and never even thought to until a good person pointed out that we should at least try. So here I am. I know everyone has problems and mine have no right to be more important than anyone else's, but if there is anyone who can help, we really could use it. A simple thank you is not enough to express how I feel towards those who help, but thank you just the same.
