Kali and I are married and have two children. Our son is 8, and our daughter is 5.
Kali is presently a hair stylist. In the past she has worked mainly as a Certified Nurses Assistant helping a wide range of people from geriatrics and quadriplegics to disabled and special needs children. Kali also ran a kitchen at Italian restaurants for many years.
I have done many things for employment from process server to high school chemistry teacher, but the thing I have done most is work in restaurants and bars. After working my way through college on my tips and earning a "professional" job, I learned that what I really missed was the restaurants and bars that got me there. I have gone back to the service industry, and have never been happier.
Although this path has brought us to a place of temporary happiness, we are trying to ensure our future. This future is not only for us, but for our children. As anyone that works in the service industry can tell you, the benefits are non-existent. In order to sustain our place in the service industry it became clear that we needed to be the owners of the business and not just the workers.
Together with our partner Matt Oly, we are opening a family friendly restaurant/bar. We will have craft beers, cocktails, simple-blue-collar food done right, pinball, djs, live music, and happy hour.
