Saludos de Bolivia! Welcome to Hogar Sagrado Corazón, an orphanage located in the hot, dusty city of Montero in the lowlands of Bolivia.
The Hogar is run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and is home to over 120 girls, between the ages of 0-20. Our girls come to the orphanage for a variety of reasons. Some come from parents who are unable to support them financially, some from abusive homes; others were abandoned by their parents through death or other circumstances. The Hogar provides the girls with meals, clothing, education, health services, recreational activities, and religious development.
As volunteers here at the Hogar, part of our responsibility includes raising all of the funds for Christmas, which includes purchasing gifts and throwing the Christmas day party for 120 girls! We intend on purchasing each girl shorts to wear under their uniform, a pair of shoes, a toothbrush and floss, a backpack and other school necessities, and hair accessories. In addition, we hope to buy a large gift for each dormitory to share, as well as prepare a nice Christmas breakfast for the girls.
We have set a goal to raise $5000 by December 12 and need your help! Would you be interested in helping make a difference in our girls lives by donating to our Christmas fundraiser? Any amount can and does make a huge difference!
I know that many of you have asked to donate items, but since the shipping is outrageous and unreliable, it truly is best to send money so that we are able to have the best Christmas possible for the girls with the money that we raise.

Saludos de Bolivia! Willkommen im Hogar Sagrado Corazón, ein Waisenhaus, welches in der heißen, staubigen Stadt Montero, im Tiefland von Bolivien liegt.
Das Hogar wird von den Franziskaner Schwestern des Scared Heart of Jesus geleitet und ist das Zuhause von mehr als 120 Mädchen im Alter von 0-20 Jahren. Die Mädchen kommen aus verschiedenen Gründen in das Waisenhaus: Einige haben Eltern, die nicht in der Lage sind, ihre Kinder finanziell zu unterstützen, andere wurden von ihren Eltern verlassen oder kommen aus Familien, in denen sie missbraucht wurden. Das Waisenhaus bietet den Mädchen regelmäßige Mahlzeiten, Kleidung, Bildung, Gesundheitsversorgung, Freizeitaktivität und geistlichen Input.
Als Freiwillige im Hogar ist eine unserer Aufgaben, Geld zu sammeln, um den 120 Mädchen im Waisenhaus ein schönes Weihnachtsfest zu bereiten und ihnen Geschenke kaufen zu können.
Wir würden den Mädchen gerne Shorts, die sie unter ihrer Uniform tragen können, ein Paar Sandalen, eine Zahnbürste und Zahnseide, Schulutensilien und Haaraccessoires zu schenken. Außerdem hoffen wir, ein größers Gemeinschaftsgeschenk für jeden Schlafraum kaufen und den Mädchen ein schönes Weihnachtsfrühstück vorbereiten zu können.
Wir haben uns zum Ziel gesetzt, bis zum 12. Dezember $5000 zu sammeln. Dafür benötigen wir Ihre Hilfe! Würden Sie gerne helfen, den Mädchen ein Freude zu bereiten und sich an unserer Weihnachts-Spendenaktion beteiligen? Jeder Betrag hilft!
