Care Fund for the Thakars

Two years ago, Puneet noticed a lump on his shoulder. It wasn't causing him any pain or discomfort, but he decided to have it checked out by a doctor anyways. The doctor was fairly certain it was nothing to worry about, and Puneet was sent on his way.

Over the past couple of months, Puneet noticed that the lump had grown, and even though it was still relatively painless, he went in to have it checked again. The doctor was pretty confident that it was nothing to worry about, but decided it was best to have it removed, and on Friday, October 3rd, Puneet went in for surgery.

One week later, Puneet and his wife Priti received the devastating news that the mass that was removed was Leiomyosarcoma - an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. So rare infact, that only three facilities in the country specialize in it.

Puneet went in for another surgery on October 24th to try and remove more of the cancer as it has spread, and the surgery will be followed with radiation and additional treatment if needed.

Our goal is to raise money to help alleviate the financial stress that comes naturally as a result of unexpected life events. We've set a goal of $2,500 to help cover expenses such a treatment not covered by insurance, missed work, etc.

Let's help Puneet and Priti focus on his recovery!

Thank you to everyone who dontates!
