Diabetes Awareness, South Football
Donation protected
The South Salem High School Football team and State Farm Insurance Company (Agent, Ted Ferry) are very excited about the second annual Diabetes Awareness Night on Friday, October 31st. We started this campaign a year ago in honor of two of our varsity athletes who are stellar students and athletes and also happen to have type 1 diabetes. Several of our coaches have type 2 diabetes, and have family members who are type 1 or type 2. It is an issue close to our hearts. Last year we raised $1,000 to support the Chris Dudley Foundation. So far this year we have raised $1,800 through a private donation and fun activities for students at two football games. We will pass the helmet in the 3rd quarter of the South Salem vs. West Albany Football game on October 31st. In the meantime we would like to raise as much money as possible for the Chris Dudley Diabetes Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. The Chris Dudley Diabetes Foundation will use the money to scholarship young athletes to their summer camp program. For more information about the Dudley Foundation go to www.chrisdudley.org The American Diabetes Association (ADA) will use the money for research and education. Please consider giving and make a difference in fighting diabetes.
