Friends of Oregon School for Deaf
Friends of Oregon School for the Deaf (FOSD) is a nonprofit created in 2006 to enrich the education of students at the school. We give grants to innovative educational projects such as sending students to Academic Bowl, Space Camp and Robotics competitions. We have funded equipment for special needs students and a Family Learning Program, created a TV Studio for creating weekly school broadcasts and a greenhouse for a plant raising and selling project. Right now, we are raising funds for a computer controlled router for the Construction Technology Academy. This tool is expensive ($45,000), but will make our graduates immediately employable at a high rate of pay. $1,000 would really help boost our fundraising efforts for deaf and hard of hearing students.
