For the Love of Jean

Our warrior princess, Jeanice Seab, passed away on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 after 59 colorful years of  life. She moved to the next chapter peacefully, in her home, surrounded by those she loved.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Jean, you loved Jean. She had a smile that was contagious, a heart so warm it could melt the biggest ogre and an attitude that was unspeakably inspiring . Jean was a bright embodiment of living life to the fullest.

It is no secret that Jean experienced her share of obstacles during her time in this world. She was born with cerebral palsy, into a body that did not submit to the wills of her mind. She was told she would never do many things, that she was limited by her lot. But Jean never lived her life that way. She conquered mountain after mountain after mountain as she painted a life of awe inspiring beauty.

Jean lived limitlessly. Telling her no was simply an invitationto defy the odds. And that's what she did every single day, defied the odds. From sticking her toes in the sand on a Bahama beach, to adding smiles to thousands of visitors faces as they ate Sunday brunch at Ryan's, to meeting Mickey and Minnie in Disney to hopping on a bus simply for the sake of adventure, Jean lived every day with a determination to make it count.

Two months ago, Jean was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. As we gathered around her to provide comfort and support during the last leg of her journey, she continued to give to us far more than we could give to her. She gave us laughter. She gave us an abundance of memories. She gave us encouragement and the sweetest whispers of love.

Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 Jean celebrated 35 years with the other half of her heart, Clifford Seab. Since I was a young child, I have only know Jean as Cliff & Jean:

"Where are Cliff & Jean?"
"When are Cliff & Jean coming?"
"I'm going to Cliff & Jean's house!"

It is impossible to imagine Cliff without Jean and yet, Cliff will never fully be without Jean. Thirty five years ago, Cliff's life and Jean's life because one life.  And since that day, their one life has been intricately woven together with colorful moments of passion, tenderness, grace and unyielding life. Although life will be different, death cannot change the tapestry woven together by these two beautiful souls.

It is often hard to know what to do in the midst of loss. There is no perfect answer, however, Cliff will need your love, your hugs, your visits and your prayers. He will need support during this time of transition and people to walk with down the road ahead.

We have setup a Go Fund Me Account as a method to provide financial support for Cliff during this difficult time. All donations will be used to cover funeral expenses and ongoing care as Cliff begins a new journey on his own.

I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the Seabs. Jean has forever changed my world by leaving her thumbprints throughout my life. And what's more amazing than that is the fact that I am one of so many. Thank you so much for your support.

In life there is death and in death there is life.
A new song comes in the mourning.

We love you always, warrior princess Jean.
