For The Family of Ethel Davis

Donation protected
On Friday, January 12th there was a fire at 8800 shore front parkway. The fire displaced multiple families, so much damage to apartments and household items, clothes, etc. But the greatest loss of all was on the 12th floor, where Ms. Ethel Davis resided with her daughter Marsha. The smoke was too much as Marsha tried desperately along with NYPD and FDNY to get her mother to safety. But due to the speed of the fire and the smoke that rose from 11 to 12, it was all too much for Ethel. She passed away early yesterday morning, leaving her family, friends and neighbors devastated. Marsha, much like her mother, is a care taker... Marsha is always the one looking in on friends and family. Babysitting for others when in a jam, having family stay over and cooking for them almost every night, Marsha learned all of these amazing qualities from her mother Ethel.

And although Ms. Davis was 91, on Thursday she was singing and joking with her family, so vibrant... Saturday morning shouldn’t have been her time.

With the smoke clean up, washing clothes and Marsha and her family trying to wrap their heads around how this could have happened, our neighbors were hoping that we could all try and help ease the burden of some financial burdens in the days and weeks to come.
