My name is Ian & i'm 35 years old. I suffer from a very rare form of Cancer called Nodular Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is that rare only 5%, or in numbers 100 people are diagnosed with this each year in the UK.
I am currently at Stage 3b (Stage 4 being terminal) & due to the fact that this is my second time of having Cancer in recent years am told is now a lifelong condition that will require treatment for the rest of my life.
I am currently undergoing 2 years maintenance Chemotherapy & next week undergo a second major operation in the space of little over 12 months. As yet, we are unsure as to what treatment will follow the Chemotherapy when this is completed in March 2017.
This is were you guys come in to it. I, or should I say, my family, my very close friends & I will be doing loads of weird & wacky fundraising events in the coming months, but we really need you to help us fund this second chance.
We have been offered a chance to visit Harley Street in London to see a leading Consultant in this type of rare Cancer. The downside is, it comes at great expense. It is a chance to look at & recieve pioneering treatments that are as yet to be available on the NHS.
So, your donations however small towards this cause will go a very long way towards giving me that second chance at seeing my young family grow up.
I know its a long shot, but it really is my chance at turning my very uncertain future into one that seems less daunting.
