Fivepoints Arthouse is an artist owned and operated creative expression facility and we are raising money for a new home! Fivepoints Arthouse was previously located at 72 Tehama (one block south of Howard St, in the SOMA/Yerba Buena district of San Francisco) and first established in North Beach for 2 years before moving to 72 Tehama in June of 2009.
The founders of Fivepoints Arthouse believe that an artist needs both space and a community of other artists in order to create critically significant art for public consumption. To that end, Fivepoints Arthouse seeks to support local artists by providing an ideal creative work environment for those artists who may not have a studio or space at home for a work area that is conducive to creating high quality art.
Fivepoints was conceived and is realized by Jason Bryan, Jessica Laurent and Erik Parra. Originally from Texas, Jason Bryan is Fivepoints' lead instigator. Design and architecture have been a driving force for Jason even before studying them at Texas A&M. In addition he brings considerable business and entrepreneurial experience to Fivepoints.
Fivepoints Arthouse is an artist-run alternative space in San Francisco. Fivepoints seeks to challenge traditional notions of what the creative space can be. By exhibiting significant, engaging and challenging works of art as well as conceptualizing and creating forward thinking design solutions, Fivepoints operates as a unique resource for creative impulses."¨"¨Fivepoints Arthouse claims an active role in shaping the future of the SOMA and all of San Francisco by promoting visibility, accessibility and by offering a true alternative model for interactions between the community and the creator.
