my brother's cremation and send off

On October 5th I received a phone call from my aunt that my brother Edward James Campbell was found deceased in his studio apartment in San Diego California at the age of 37. Our mother passed away when we were young children at the age of 32.
we never knew our father other then from a couple of phone calls over our life time. The last of my immediate family consists of my aunt and grandfather who live in Florida. I live in Portland Oregon and the closest or next of kin and responsible for the cost of his funeral.
I do not have the financial means to fly his body or have a service for him. My grandfather suggested I donate his body to science. I don't want his body to be a forensic experiment. I feel he deserves a proper send off.
the least expensive way I can come up with is having him cremated in San Diego with no viewing or service. I will have his remains placed in a basic box or affordable urn. Then ship him to Tampa, Florida to have his god son scatter his ashes next to his best friend Donna's grave.This is where he wanted to die, so this is where I am sending him. The cost to move his body to the mortuary is $ 200.00 and the cremation with urn is $1300.00. I have very good friends who have offered to help generously and over $400.00 is basically accounted for already. Anything will help even if it is Just $5.00 My brother was a Christian and seemed to have found God in his last few years. So I want to give him a Christian send off. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and can be anonymous if you wish.
the morgue can hold him for 1 month and longer if I keep in touch with them. Though they didn't seem to specify if they will charge me to hold him.
