took in a sweet collie they have named Fiona. In the cold winter, the dog survived by eating things a dog shouldn't eat.
A few thousand dollars later, Fiona is recovering after a sock and about a foot of her intestine was removed. Her intake required emergency surgery that was an enormous setback to the rescue that already had other recent expensive rescues: senior shelties with abscessed teeth and liver problems, sickly collies with heartworm infestations.
