Financial pains due to illness

Hi my name is Sherry and I'm setting up this page for my best friend.  She has recently become very ill and is unable to work. Her husband is trying very hard to take care of her and their girls but unfortunately one income isn't enough.  Beatrice is receiving sick benefits but it is a very small amount of money. So they have fallen on some very hard times.

I'm going to tell you a bit of what I know about this mystery illness. It started a few months ago with bouts of vertigo that seemed to be manageable for a while then over time it became every day. In October it took a turn for the worst and she was taken to the hospital.  They have been running tests on her and can only say that there is excess fluid around her brain. They don't know the cause yet but have determined it is very unsafe for her to be working. They are sending her to a neurologist and other various tests to try to find the cause.

I'm reaching out to anyone who has gone through something like this or has experienced financial struggles due to a sick family member.  I'm concerned that if they don't receive help they may not have a home.  I'm now going to share Beatrice's own words with you.  She is very humble and doesn't enjoy asking for help but it is needed.

Hi I'm Beatrice and I'm 30yrs old. The last few months have been incredibly challenging, both physically and emotionally. Although I'm secretly afraid of what my future may hold I know I can't get through this alone.  My friends have offered to fundraise for me but I think it's important that this comes from me.

My story-

I started having what they thought was vertigo, back in may this year with only slight migraines throughout the days. In October everything changed, I was taken to hospital,  pulled from my job and became entirely dependent on the people around me. The doctors have been unable to give myself and my family answers about what is happening to me.  I was once the very busy, plans everything, always on the go mom and wife to struggling with daily tasks that were once so easy.  I'm constantly feeling faint with these tremendous headaches and pressure behind my forehead. I spend most days walking along furniture or balancing on my dog who has been a blessing to me during this time. So I've been sent home with pain management  to wait for appointments and tests. My doctor has gone as far as to call me a puzzle.  I'm just fearful that I may not be able to return to work in time to help take care of my family, we have fallen into great financial difficulties and are unable to manage our household expenses. It's incredibly humbling to be in a position where you need the help of friends, family, colleagues and even strangers to be able to have the peace of mind to treat this and heal from this unknown illness. It is a great privilege to have the support of many loving friends and family members during this trying time. Your support would mean so much to me and my family and would truly make a difference in our lives! Thank you for anything you can contribute.
