Empowering Young Girls

My name is Kendall Braunstein and my friend, Shannon O'Connor, and I have recently begun a project called Fight for Our Rights. We are passionate about educating ourselves, as well as others, in order to increase awareness and help make our community and the world a better place. We realize that although we probably cannot change the world, we can help improve one person's life and help change their world, for the better. Recently, we have been educating ourselves and advocating for womens rights, as we are aware of the various forms of sexism that take place within (Western) society and leave girls at a disadvantage in almost every way. Gender inequality plagues our society and is expertly outlined in the book 9 Ways We're Screwing Up Our Girls and How We Can Stop, by author and self-esteem expert Anea Bogue. Upon reading this, Shannon and I reached out to Anea and thankfully, she reached back! Shannon and I have made it our mission to fight gender discrimination  by helping girls get back their confidence and self-esteem that has been hindered by society, by starting within our school. Thankfully Anea is more than willing to help us by speaking at our school, but unfortunately, our bank accounts are not. Despite our bottle drives, we are still a little short of cash to bring Anea to our school, and to helping girls reach their full potential. We will continue to fundraise inside and outside of school, and we hope that you will contribute to help us help others. You will help fund a girl's future and society, by allowing us to empower girls by providing them with the right tools to help them reach their full potential. This is just the beginning and we hope that you will will see the value in investing in a girl's future! Thank you!
