Ken Walton's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
In June of 2013, Ken Walton father of 3 and husband of 13 years, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After completing rounds of chemo, he went in to remission and was believed to have won the battle since it was caught and treated at an early stage. Sadly in May of 2014, Ken started to not feel well and his wife encouraged him to make a doctors appoinment. After testing, doctors confirmed their families worst nightmare, the cancer was back. Ken was informed he would need a bone marrow transplant and thus started the journey of finding him a donor. After many family members were tested, by God's grace, one brother was a match. Ken and his brother went through the process of the bone marrow transplant and things started to look positive for the future. On July 25, 2014, a long time family friend took Ken to his routine follow up in which he had a fever and has not left the hospital since. Ken has fought long and hard during his hosptial stay and has always kept a positive outlook throughout his battle. Currently, he is unconscience and on a respirator due to a bacterial infection of the brain. His family, his friends, and his doctors all refuse to give up on him and are doing everything possible to bring him out of this.

Ken was the sole provider of his wife, 3 children, and also helped care for his mother and elderly grandmother. Ken has been unable to work since his second diagnosis, thus leaving his family with no income. Ken's oldest daughter, Jameria is a junior at Lincoln University with a GPA of 4.0. Through this battle and struggle, she continues to work hard and maintain good grades while giving support to her mother and younger brothers.

Ken has been an active member of his church and choir since he was a child. He is proud and strong in his faith and always trusts in the Lord. Through his battle, he has kept his faith knowing that he is a child of God.

We are asking for your prayers and contributions to help this family in this trying time. Ken has been unable to work since May, and the financial burdon is starting to weigh heavy on his family. No amount is too small. Each and every contribution is appreciated. Your thoughts and prayer would be amazing as well!

God bless.
