Hello, my name is Rebekah. I am here as a hopeful Georgia Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Student. I am seeking help to raise funding to cover the cost of my tuition for the class. The class spans the course of nine months on a rotating firefighter schedule (every third day). I am looking for any donation anyone is willing to give. I have exhausted all efforts locally as there are practically zero scholarships for private, techincal programs like these.
For as long as I can recall, I have never wanted to be anything but an EMT and firefighter. I believe 9/11 really shaped that dream of mine as an eighth grader. I have explored many avenues over the years, but this one has never left me and with your help I finally would like to be able to make it a reality. In Georgia, most of the state is made up of rural communities. When things go wrong, EMT's are a patients first lifeline due to the travel distances to hospitals here in the state. With your help, I will be able to successfully educate and train myself in order to finally get to join the ranks of the "ditch doctors" who save countless lives on a daily basis.
At the age of 18, I became a volunteer firefighter my senior year of high school to begin this journey that has remained with me since. Currently I work full-time as a Delivery Technican serving hospice patients across Georgia. I deliver and maintaince hopsital beds, respiratory equipment, entereal pumps, and so much more. At my core, public service and people are what drive me to be the person that I am. It is what drives me to want to become better.

Here you will also find the tuition breakdown for the program, but I am asking for a little more to help cover books, uniforms, insurance, and testing since those are not covered in the cost of tuition. School officially starts on October 20th, but I know how goals can be met by pulling together to reach them and in this case, anything can help.
