Teela's Emergency Surgery

We have a a shepherd/mastiff cross, Teela, who is two months shy of two years. The best word to describe her is sweet. On Sept 21, Teela had to go in to the vet hospital for an emergency surgery on her small intestine. An intussuception (accordion'ing up of her intestines) had occurred as a result of a granulation mass. Whatever she had ingested to cause three lacerations was never found, one of the lacerations had ruptured through the wall of the jejunum and caused the healing granulation mass to form. The doctors removed the mass along with 8inches of her intestines. After spending three days at the hospital she was released home and recovery has been positive. She is expected to live a healthy full life with no reoccurring problems. On mon Oct 6, we hope to have our final check up on this matter. And Teela can finally be allowed to run and swim and leap again. Thank you so much for helping us with these unforeseen medical expenses!!!
