My name is Alasdhair and I'm 15 months old. I suffer from a severe version of an extremely rare condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. This condition causes me to have an allergic reaction to every food and it does not have a cure, which means I will not grow out of it.
I cannot eat any food except for a special and expensive formula, which costs 64.00USD a can. I am a growing boy and I get through a can each day. Our family health insurance will not cover it because I don't have my NG tube anymore after learning how to use a bottle, even though any other formula or food can kill me.

I have global development delay due to an inherited genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Type I, causing my two month prematurity and major developmental delays. This is why learning to use a bottle with the help of several of my therapists was such a great achievement.
I have to have regular endoscopies, which have determined my case is too severe to begin food trials for the indefinite future. I'm thriving on my formula, and it's making an extreme difference in the quality of my life.
