Adopting a sibling group of four!

Donation protected
We are Tyler & Kari Zielasko,
Several years ago God placed in our hearts the desire to expand our family via adoption and in October of 2010 we welcomed a four month old little girl into our family!  We were so excited to be used by God in this capacity and truly thought we'd grow our family this way again in the future.  Fast forward to Christmas of 2013 and we were having discussions about starting this crazy process again!  In April of this year we were given the name of a website called AdoptUsKids.org which includes state photo listings of children who are able to be adopted out of foster care.  We have always agreed that we would like to go where we felt the most need is and truthfully, the need for adoptive families is very great!  We prayed for God to lead us in the right direction and that eventually led us to a sibling group of four.  Two brothers (7 & 2) and two sisters (5 & 4) who have been in foster care for almost two years and the sad part is that have not all been living together.  We began to pursue these children who we affectionately call The Fantastic Four at the end of April and on August 28th were officially chosen to be their new family!  So what does this mean for us financially as a family?  It means we have to ready our home to accomodate four additional children and go from a family of three to a family of SEVEN!  This includes various home projects like painting their bedrooms, purchasing furniture and extras such as bikes, clothing and toys, gas and hotel costs for several trips out to Missouri for visits and getting to know them before they come home, and outdoor projects.  A "typical" family of five children grows into these kinds of needs and can make these adjustments along the way.  These kiddos will more than likely come to us with a little bit of clothing and maybe a few favorite toys but beyond that not a whole lot.  It's important to us that they feel special and cared for on their very first visit to our home.  We have saved our own personal money to be used on many of these projects and have also done a fundraiser or two earlier this year however we're asking for others to stand in the gap for these children by providing funding for the things listed above.  One of the most beautiful things about adoption is seeing the body of Christ come together and help provide a safe and loving home environment for these children who have come from a pretty horrible family situation.  We truly want to thank those who have already given in some capacity whether it be monetary, or giving your time or even items for our garage sale...we can't wait for this story to unfold and for these four to come home to a community who already loves them!
