Update: You all are truly magical! We are so incredibly humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love and support for this program. With the money donated so far we have been able to order costume pieces for many different characters, including Hans (Frozen), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Scar (The Lion King), and Simba (The Lion King), among others! We have been able to purchase costume items we never thought we'd be able to afford! We hope those of you just seeing this page will continue to support our cause to bring joy and pixie dust to these kids in the best way we possibly can! THANK YOU!
We don't have a fairy godmother, so we need your help to make costumes so that we can bring joy to hospitalized children!
Fairytale Physical Therapy was started by DPT students at Columbia University in NYC with one mission: bring some Disney magic to children in the hospital. With their knowledge of physical therapy, love of musical theater, and a little bit of pixie dust, they created a program that brought joy and movement to hospitalized kids around NYC.
Now we are bringing that magic to the cold land of La Crosse, Wisconsin! DPT students at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse performed The Frozen Show at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital this summer, and it was a hit! We are now attempting to expand our repertoire of shows for the kids, and to do that we need more costumes.
We received a small amount of funding from the school for Frozen, but further school funding is unlikely. We are currently paying for any necessary items out of our own pockets, so our options are limited. Funds raised here would be put towards props and costumes for Frozen, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and possibly more so that we can make these shows truly magical for the kids!
No amount is too small - we created all the props and costumes for our first Frozen show for about $75 - and we are unbelievably appreciative of anything you care to give! We are wishing on a star here...wishing that you will help us make kids' dreams come true as we try to bring smiles to kids who may not have much to smile about.
