Hi. My name's Karen, and I need help from friends.
I work full time at a small business, and even though I do love my job, I have been out of work a few times over the past month due to some gastrointestinal issues, including an overnight stay at a hospital.
Then, last Monday (9/22/14), my husband lost his job, and with it, our insurance. So now we are living on my income, but that will definitely not cover all of our bills and groceries, my medicines, dog food, and annual shots for our corgi, Gizmo. We've canceled all of our non-essential services, tightened the belt as much as we can, and I am selling some of my favorite clothes online, but it's still not possible for just my income to cover this.
As the icing on the cake, today (9/29/14) I discovered that someone got a hold of my debit card number, and possibly my PayPal debit card as well. So both of my cards are blocked and I am waiting to hear from the bank about whether the person got a hold of any money from my account.
I'm almost embarrassed that I have to ask for this. We just need a little bit of a "leg up" so we can get back on our feet and get our finances straightened out until Doug gets a job, which is hopefully soon. I am back at work and will hopefully be making full time money again shortly. It's not enough for both of us to live on, but we can be OK. I just want to make sure the bills are paid and our dog is fed and taken care of.
