Surgery for Sunny

Sunny is a 2 and a half month old kitten at the Champaign County Humane Society. He started out with another sibling, but due to the fact his sister was in good health, she was adopted right away. According to the staff, everyone thinks he is adorable when they see him in his cage, but the minute they see his cloudy eyes it turns them off to the idea of adopting him. He is cuddly, sweet, playful, inquisitive, and just an all around wonderful cat. However, according to the humane society workers, he needs surgery to fix his deformed eyelids on both visually impaired eyes for him to lead a normal life. They also insist he gets the procedure when he is young, in order to speed up recovery time. Unfortunately, due to the state of things, the humane society does not have the funds to contribute to his surgery right now (because it is not something he needs absolutely immedately, though it is still vital he gets it in order to save him from continuous infection) and are hoping a good family will take him and be able to provide instead. 

In short, Jake and myself would absolutely love to have this cat. However, being in college currently and being on a fixed budget, while we can afford routine maintenance and care without much issue, we cannot afford the surgery costs on our own. We want to wait until we actually have the FULL FUNDS to give him what he needs to be able to adopt him, and that is where we need some help. Otherwise we fear no one will be interested in taking home a cat who needs such an expensive procedure. 

Even if at the end of the day someone else does manage to adopt him before us, we will donate ANY money we raise here to the Champaign County Humane Society for medical care for current animals residing there. So regardless, the money will be going to a great cause.
