Thomas Filo's Cancer Treatment

Our family member, Thomas Filo IV, has been diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell cancer -- a very aggressive neuro-endocrine cancer that has an extremely low survival rate of only 10% - 15%. Thomas is only 27 years old with a family (Dina and baby Thomas) who he loves dearly. He wants nothing more than to live a long and healthy life with them and and enjoy watching his son grow up. Thomas works as a paramedic and has been not only continuing to work through this difficult time, but has been working overtime in order to make as much money as possible before he will be off due to surgery, chemotherapy treatments, etc. Thomas is also a volunteer fireman. He dedicates his life to sacrificing his time and energy to help everyone else, so it is our hope that we can all now give him our help and support during his time of need. He will need all of his mental strength and energy to focus on positive thoughts and healing, not worrying about financial stress and difficulty. Dina also works as a paramedic and been putting in overtime hours as well to prepare for Thomas's time off. Thomas does have health insurance, but will still have a considerable financial need to cover deductibles, co-pays, amounts not covered by insurance, and family bills while he is off of work. They are a loving, giving, hard working family who now need as much love and support as we can possibly give them.
