Annie & Darrell Scholten Family
Annie's sarcoma cancer has returned from a 9 year remission and traveled to her lung. Due to the location and size, it is not operable. Upon finding the cancer in August, she immediately started chemo. She has completed several rounds already and will continue with a one week chemo/ 4 week break schedule for four more chemo rounds. We received the news in Mid January that the chemo is now starting to slow the tumors progression a little. This means that we can now start thinking in terms of a year or so rather than just months left with Annie, which was a great change in the time prognosis of 3-6 months that we had last heard from the doctors.
Annie has constantly given to her family, community, work and others with her time, prayers, support and so much more. She is the first to volunteer to help. Her and her husband have served on the praise and worship team at church for years, she is the full time working mom who is also the one planning the school parties for her boys classrooms and the sports mom playing and cheering with her sons. I wanted to start this page for my sister, who we all want to spend the time left fighting this cancer, spending time with her family and helping support the increased medical bills, loss of income/etc. It is hard for my family to ask for help but at times like this I know we can all come together for an amazing lady and her family who has given so much to everyone around her.
