Williams family vs Stage IV Glioblastoma

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Brian, and I have set up this page to help a cousin, Garreth Williams - also known as Gary who was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma, an aggressive cancerous brain tumour.

Life can be described by many as either unpredictable or monotonous. The unexpected hits you like a wave breaking on the shore, fast, deadly and peaceful in its motions.
Gary is known to many, in many different ways and by many other titles - Father, grandfather, brother, husband, uncle, cousin and friend. Always ready to love and support those dear to him.
He was born on the 24th of January 1972 in Zimbabwe. He has one sister, Bridget, who currently resides in the USA with her husband and son. Gary has four beautiful children, two girls from a previous marriage and two young boys with his wife Carrie. He is also a proud grandfather to his grandson Luke. Garry resides in the UK with his wife and two boys, while his daughters and grandson live in South Africa. However, no one realised how quickly life was about to change. What started out as a headache and some mild/transient left-hand weakness would turn out to be a life-altering diagnosis; no one could have prepared for how life was about to change but change it did on the 30th of May 2022.
On the 30th of May 2022 Gary was diagnosed with Giloblastoma Multiforme.
Gilioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a fast-growing type of tumour of the brain or spinal cord. With treatment, the life expectancy is 12-18mths.
As you can imagine, these next few months are imperative; there is an urgency to renovate the house as Gary may not be able to go up and down the stairs in his home. The downstairs area needs to be converted for his care, and his daughters will need to be with their father and brothers in this horrifically unprecedented time. Gary was always the breadwinner for his family, while Carrie pursued a career in childcare, a career she is both passionate about and very good at. So as one can imagine how life has changed drastically, financially, emotionally and physically.

The need for this GoFundMe is to not only raise awareness for this diagnosis and bring humanity to something so inhumane but to ease the financial burden. To bring his girls to the UK and help towards the conversion of his downstairs area to suit his needs as his health declines. This will also ease the burden for Carrie as she tries to normalise the boy’s life and support her family in this difficult time.
