I am asking for help to buy special medical equipment.
In a nutshell, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis more than 15 years ago. I also had a stroke 2 years ago. Covid has affected us gravely. My husband and I lost our small business. We traveled from Texas to Oregon attending different Comic, Anime and other genre conventions selling my jewelry and headpieces. When everything shut down, all of our supplemental money stopped.
My M.S. has started to progressed and I am doing Physical Therapy to try to build my leg strength and balance. I need to have custom leg braces which come in 3 parts. It is made for people with MS, using a cooling mesh so overheating is cut down. (Heat is a big problem for most of us)
The main calf part is $156.00, the stocking for nighttime is $28.00 and the foot piece is $45.00. And I need them for both of my legs. They have also suggested that I have an Up Walker to prevent future falls. That is $695.00. I am fortunate to have insurance that covers my physical therapy, but DME (durable medical equipment) is not covered.
It has taken alot for me to ask, but it will really help me and hopefully stop my balance issues and falling problems I would appreciate any help that I can get. Thank you for reading this. Forward to anyone I might have missed and thank you for your help in advance
