Keep The Kids Safe Zone Open

A safe place for Baltimore children! When Baltimore made international news after the murder of Freddie Gray. When our city was literaly set on fire, as the cameras rolled everyone who found themselves with a mic in their faces had the overwhelming same response "Baltimore city children, need resources, they have no where to go but to the streets, there are no recs, there are no programs, give our children a safe place to go!"
Penn North did just that, on June 1st, just 4 weeks after the riots, as the Director of PR, Marketing & Business Development for The Penn North Community Resource Center - a non-profit organization in the community of Sandtown-Winchester for more than 20 years, I decided to create a safehaven for children ages 5-17, we promised that we'd open the doors on June 1st and we did!
We couldn't afford to wait for a grant. We couldn't wait for a miracle. We only waited for you! You gave and becasue of donations, The Kids Safe Zone is open and fully operational 7 days, from 8am to 8pm, free to any child in need of a safe place to go.
7 flat screen TVs, Xbox, Wii and Play Station gaming systems, every game and toy any child could imagine and BOOKS!
The only requirement to play at The Kids Safe Zone is you MUST read for 15 minutes before play.
We run on 100% donations and a love for a community in need. Without donations, we close the doors and we can not afford to close the doors on children that have had many promises in their lives with as many or more dissapointments. Please help us. The Kids Safe Zone's operational costs include 2 paid staff members and a village of volunteers.
