Dr. Carolyn Starnes-Vincent was a K-5 Music Educator in Stockbridge, Ga. On Wednesday, August 5, 2015 she went into Dekalb Medical Center. On Friday August 7 she was transferred to Emory Hospital where they were treating her with a blood infection that shut down her organs and caused many complications. She went into Hospice and on Tuesday August 25 she passed away. She has a husband Steve and 2 sons: Ivan who is 17 and a senior at Woodland High School and Richard who is 18 that just started college at West Georgia. If you would like to donate to her family to go towards her medical expenses and to help support her family you may donate here. A student (Ashlee Slack) wanted to create one for her and I thought I should as her former co-worker and K-5 Art Teacher. I love her she has been a mentor and a friend to me. Being a music educator she impacted and touched the lives of many people not just me. She had many family members, and friends, students, parents, teachers and administrators that held her in high regard. Any money collected will go to her husband and her boys so they can use as needed.
