Lawmen Youth Hockey Supports Veterans

The Central PA Lawmen Youth Hockey teams have chosen the Susquehanna Service Dogs as their summer community fundraising project.
We want to help a Veteran get a service dog for free. Training and placing service dogs has a cost of $30,000, but the Veteran is required to pay $5,000 of that cost to get a service dog. Each service dog is individually trained based on the needs of their partner. They enhance their partner's life and assist them to be more independent. These dogs have excellent manners and follow basic obedience cues, as well as specific tasks to mitigate their partner's disability.
Our challenge is to raise $5,000 as a group and provide a Veteran their service dog for free. Please take a moment and watch this video to fully understand the impact the Lawmen Hockey teams will have on a Veteran who needs one of these special dogs.
