See those smiling faces, on the video, those are the people we support daily and want a safe and fun environment for. Our Hawthorne Day Program serving developmentally disabled adults lost its’ lease in March 2015. The site we are intending to lease will require some modifications before we can move. The facility requires a fire alarm system, and the addition of two handicap ramps. It has been ALMOST TEN YEARS since the State of California has given service providers like us any rate increases. As we all know costs go up, and to operate a small non-profit is challenging when relying on only one source of revenue.

Our wish is raise funds to cover the expenses of the fire alarm system and the handicap ramps.

Specialized Health Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization, a 501 (c) 3 corporation that was established in 1985 to meet the needs of developmentally disabled adults who also had mental health challenges, and WERE NOT BEING SERVED!
We have now grown to operating three day programs and one residential facility in the Los Angeles area. All our programs are licensed by the State of California, with our Hawthorne site awaiting licensing approval!
