Veteran Family: House in Forclosure

Veteran Family Losing Home During the Holiday’s.

To whom This Concern’s, We are writing to you because We are in a financial Hardship, We are currently fighting to keep our home; that is in a Foreclosure status.
In October of 2015 I got medically discharged from the Army. I got injuries that were serious enough to interfere with finding new employment. When I got out I was awarded with 60% disability from the VA.  I fought to receive 100%. During this time, I inquired two contract jobs but had to resign due to my injuries. My wife had undergone two major surgeries and was in and out of the hospital, so at this time we were both out of work. We also have an 8year old son who has Behavior Health issues and has recently been diagnosed with Autism.

During this time, we had gotten behind on our Mortgage and bills, so we applied for a modification. Our Mortgage lender (Wells Fargo) told us that they would give us time for us to pay our monthly mortgage and that they money past due would be put on the back end of our loan. When the modification ended they were demanding all the past due money plus some. Currently, I am receiving 100% disability from the VA. We are in a position now that We can afford our Mortgage however; during the time in which we just ended our Modification and when I received 100%, I was required to send documents in. The Mortgage company (Wells Fargo) had sent us a letter stating that they would no longer receive any form of payment, and that We are now in the Foreclosure Process. They were claiming that they never received any documents. They told us that we had the choice to appeal this decision. We were able to send back the proof to where we had initially sent the documents. I had proof on the date that I sent the initial documents, the date was well before their deadline. During this time, I would try to reach them by phone and they avoided my phone calls and did not return my calls. I then one day got a letter stating that they would not grant us an appeal, even though we had proof that the documents were sent in on time.

We feel that we have been taken advantage of. We just got a letter in the mail stating that they are sending someone over next week to take pictures of our home and that If the new buyers want to buy, they can at any time. We were told that We would have a 30-day notice to leave the premises. We will have no choice but to vacate right before or on Christmas. With an active Foreclosure on our credit, we would not even be able to rent anywhere. We have applied for many places and they are all denying us. This is a very hard time for us right now. With being treated unjust, and having two small children. This has put us in a very scary place right now. If they kick us out, we will be homeless. We are asking for Help. If We can come up with $16,500.00 by December 15th then we will be caught up and can keep our home. We will be financially stable to keep up with all our bills. Please find it in your hearts to help a Wounded Warrior and His family!
