Supporting friends through tough times

Donation protected
Hi, from Dawn.
For those who know me, I am starting this fund raiser for my much loved friends Sue & Nigel and for those who don't know me but who know Sue & Nigel, I know they are much loved friends of yours too.
Sadly, just before Christmas 2023, Nigel received a diagnosis of squamous cell cancer which is in his tonsils, tongue & thyroid gland. Nigel is currently undergoing his 6 week treatment which will consist of Chemo & Radiotherapy.
6 weeks x 5 days a week of Radiotherapy, 2 x over the 6 week
treatment of chemotherapy.
The prognosis of the cancer is that it is treatable, so we are all willing Nigel on in his battle for a full recovery.
Currently, Nigel is coming to the end of his third week of treatment and is suffering from the side effects of the treatment, he has been hospitalized several times due to concerns over his kidney function & is severe pain, unable to eat, drink or swallow and suffering with sickness, nausea & headaches.
It is proving to be a very challenging time for Nigel, Sue & family.
Obviously, due to the diagnosis and treatment programme, Nigel is no longer working and has not been working since October last year due to being very ill with the cancer, (pre-diagnosis & treatment). He is currently only receiving S.S.P and Universal credit which is causing financial pressures for both Nigel & Sue at a particularly stressful time for them both.
Added to these stresses and pressures, Sue & Nigel lovingly opened their home for Sue's parents to move in with them last year as Sue's mum has been deteriorating for some time with a dementia diagnosis and her Dad having been treated for cancer also was struggling to cope alone.

I am therefore hoping that people/ friends will consider making a donation, however big or small to help support them a little during Nigel's treatment/recovery process.
The money raised will be used to support with daily fuel costs to & from Christies hospital and also to help with food costs & bills during the next 4-6 months although this could be longer.
I know a little would go a long way to take some financial pressure off them at this very challenging time and I would like to thank everyone in advance on behalf of Nigel & Sue if you feel that you are able to support in anyway at all.
Thank you so very much for reading and for your consideration of support for them both.
N.B All proceeds raised will go directly to Nigel & Sue

Sending lots of love & positive vibes to both Nigel & Sue during this challenging time Xx
