Support Therapy Animals in Schools

As the Superintendent of Schools for the St. Marys Area School District, I interact with students who are victims of stress, anxiety and trauma. I want to make a difference in their emotional lives.  Some of my colleagues have proven that a therapy dog has made a difference in the lives of their traumatized students (please Google Centennial Jake). I contacted  New Hope, presented my plan and have begun training with a Golden Doodle named Brooklyn. I am providing all room, board and vet costs for Brooklyn. She has become part of our family. My intent is once she is fully trained to bring her to school, visit students experiencing anxiety and stress and hopefully bring a calming smile to their lives. I cannot change the home lives of students but I can change how their lives at school can be made better.

I ask for support to fund the cost of Brooklyn and her training. I am providing her forever home.
