Odyssey of the Mind World Finals!

The FANTASTIC news: A team of 5 seniors and 2 juniors at Wake Forest High School has won competitions at the Regional and State Final levels of Odyssey of the Mind, earning them the right to advance to World Finals at Michigan State University on May 20th! These students have worked incredibly hard, learning about critical thinking, teamwork, resource management, responsibility, and deadlines as they have formed a creative solution and engaging presentation to solve a pre-defined technical problem. At the State level, they won 1st place in Spontaneous Problem-solving and 2nd place overall in Division III. With these achievements, they have qualified to join over 800 teams from around the world as they compete in the 36th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals!
The next CHALLENGE: Up to this point, the team has been able to cover costs incurred in constructing and presenting the solution and travelling to the various competition venues by working with their Drama class friends to complete projects and services to earn the needed money. Now that they have earned the coveted invitation to compete at World Finals in Michigan, they have to find their own funds to represent their school, our town, and our State at the National and International level.
The team needs to raise funds for registration fees, transportation, and lodging for each member as well as the coaches (volunteers) in order to get to the World Finals event. What a fabulous opportunity for these students to venture out as ambassadors for Wake Forest and North Carolina!
How YOU can BE PART of the ADVENTURE: If you can, we would appreciate your joining to celebrate all the hard work it has taken to reach the level of State champions – and rally around our team to help get them all the way to World Finals! Any form of support and encouragement you can share will be thoroughly appreciated!
The GREAT NEWS for patrons: 100% of the proceeds (the part we receive outside of gofundme costs) will be used to cover expenses of the team as they continue their pursuit of Odyssey of the Mind excellence! Contact me for further information or questions.
